This Is How Much The Kids From 'Stranger Things' Earn Per Episode
Season two of ‘Stranger Things’ dropped on Netflix at midnight last night, and we’re pretty sure that there are a few people who have already binged all the episodes by now.
We promise, we’re not judging you if you have.
Eleven and her group of friends have the kind of bond that simply begs a Netflix binge, so we completely understand if some of you couldn’t resist taking a peek at what season two had to bring to the table.
Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin stole the hearts of Netflix viewers all over the world with their nostalgic take on 80’s pop-culture and the innocence of youth, alongside a much welcomed dash of science fiction and gruesome aliens.
Even after the first season’s dose of psychokinesis and missing/dead friends (RIP Barbara), the Stranger Things kids continued their much-deserved reign through several television appearances and that iconic performance of Uptown Funk at the Emmy’s last year.
In case you missed it (what rock have you been living under?), here’s a clip:
Everyone loves the Stranger Things kids, seeing as their established rays of sunshine, and we really wouldn’t mind if they stuck around on our TV screens for years and years to come.
However, seeing as with age usually comes ambition, we anticipate that, eventually, each of them will break out and advance into Hollywood in their own ways, in seek of bigger roles and, of course, bigger paychecks.
Although, speaking of paychecks, it turns out that the Stranger Things kids are getting paid quite a large sum right now.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, each of the kids are paid a total of $30,000 (£22,785) per episode for both seasons one and two.
This means that for season one, they each earned $240,000 (£182,280) and for season two, they earned $270,000 (£205,065) – seeing as there’s an extra episode in it.
Whilst this number is undeniably quite a big one, it’s still small by Hollywood standards. According to The Hollywood Reporter, knowledgeable sources have revealed that these numbers could be negotiated in the near future, or even tailored to different actors and their accomplishments.
For example, whether or not the show’s breakout star, 13-year-old Millie Bobby Brown might see herself getting a raise in future seasons is a big question on everyone’s lips.
And whilst the cast have signed on for a six-year contract, talent reps say a renegotiation could happen as soon as early next year.
Of course, we’re sure that each of the kids will get an amount that makes them happy enough. For now, they’ll have to make do with £182,280 per season, but who knows what the future holds?
If each of the kids follow in the footsteps of their fellow co-star, FinnWolfhard (who starred in the recent remake of IT), then other projects could provide them with all the more money to go alongside their pay from Netflix.
In other words, those kids are going to be hella rich.
