Eminem's Brutal Anti-Trump Rap At The BET Hip Hop Awards Sent Twitter Into Meltdown
In his rap, Eminem provided a brutally honest criticism of America’s current political state, with some passionate comments intended to point out Trump’s inadequacy as the US President.
In other words, he completely obliterated Trump.
The 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards took place late last week, where several fan favourites received recognition for their musical achievements over the past year.
Chart-topping newcomer Cardi B took home several awards for her debut hit, Bodak Yellow, and Kendrick Lamar also managed to nab a few accolades for the popular track, HUMBLE, alongside his newest album, DAMN.
And whilst the ceremony had its fair share of performances, it was a 4.5 minute long rap from Eminem that rocked audiences the most.
In a passionate freestyle, the 44-year-old rapper unleashed a tidal-wave of heavy hitting jabs at Donald Trump, rapping on several issues such as the President’s reaction to Charlottesville, NFL Players and Puerto Rico, as well as his clear obsession with Twitter.
Filmed in a Detroit car park, the rap begins quite awkwardly; and many viewers have reported that it did make them to cringe at first – especially since the performance was so clearly a freestyle (meaning that the lyrics were not thoroughly rehearsed, but partially improvised on the spot instead. It’s also known as a cypher, but only when you’re not in a rap battle).
With this in mind, it makes sense that the beginning of the performance might have induced a bit of second-hand embarrassment.
However, as Eminem finds his flow – and this is made quite obvious as his passion increases – the lines that he delivers take on a poetic nuance, with every lyric cleverly constructed to – in simple terms – tear Trump to absolute shreds.
Here are five particular lines from his rap that we feel are the most brutal:
“We better give Obama props ’cause what we got in office now is a kamikaze that will probably cause a nuclear holocaust while the drama pops, and he waits for sh*t to quiet down, he’ll just gas his plane up and fly around till the bombing stops”
“He says he wants to lower our taxes, then who’s going to play for his extravagant trips back and forth with his fam to his golf resorts and his mansions?”
“Racism’s the only thing he’s Fantastic four, cos’ that’s how he gets his fucking rocks off and he’s orange.”

“Any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his, I’m drawing in the sand a line, you’re either for or against, and if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for it for you with this – F*ck you.”
“The rest of America stand up/We love our military and we love our country but we f*cking hate Trump“
Donald Trump has not yet responded to Eminem’s performance.
Several celebrities were among those who flocked to Twitter to express their thoughts on the performance, and you can check out the best tweets below.
