Eminem Is Going On Tour For The First Time In Four Years

Eminem is making quite the comeback, and we’re 100% here for it. Whether you’re a lover of the classic ‘Slim Shady’ persona or his new approach to rap, it can’t be denied that Eminem’s return has caused quite a stir in the music world.

Now, whilst his growing presence on the charts might be a clear sign that fans are open to new material, it has become clear, due to online responses, that Eminem’s newest brand of rap has split his audience.

Continuing on from the ‘spoken-word‘ style displayed in the Trump-fuelled cypher he performed during the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Eminem’s new music features a somewhat more contemplative style of rap that differs vastly from his prior brand of fast-spitting bars and cleverly crafted one-liners.

Different  doesn’t always mean bad, however, and many fans are absolutely loving the 45-year-old’s new take on music. Although, a few Eminem lovers have also been left wondering whether the real Slim Shady will show (or stand) up on his upcoming album – Revival (which has had one of the best marketing campaigns, by the way).

For example, when Eminem lended his power-house rapping skills to P!nk’s song ‘Revengea few months ago, the feature was received well.

Mere weeks later, however, Eminem’s new track ‘Walk on Water‘ appeared online, and many fans were quite taken aback by the song for a variety of reasons. Featuring a host of sweeping vocals from Queen B herself, the song certainly got people talking.

With this in mind, Eminem’s announcement of a tour comes at an interesting time. After four years out of the public eye, the rapper is finally returning to the stage to perform material from his past albums, and presumably, from his upcoming one too.

His agent confirmed the news to Pollstar during an interview, in which she also mentioned that 19-year-old ‘Young & Dumb‘ singer, Khalid, would also be touring too. Eminem’s tour will take place some time next year, but no dates have been specified. For now, it is believed that that the tour will be solely US-based.

The last time that Eminem toured was back in 2014, with Rihanna. He did six dates at three stadiums during The Monster Tour, which grossed over $36 million.

Here’s hoping that this upcoming tour meets or even surpasses that number.
