You Can Now Watch The Audition Tapes For The 'Stranger Things' Kids

If you’re not watching/have watched Stranger Things, then I don’t want to be blunt, but there’s something wrong with you. It’s definitely one of the best TV shows to ever be made and more than that, the acting is phenomenal.

When it first came out last year, I had no interest in watching it since a good rule of thumb is that kids can’t act and often ruin films and TV. Generally, with a few exceptions like Leon and AI, children can’t act, and their wooden performances will totally mess with the dynamic.

But someone told me that these kids are good, so I watched it.

My god, they’re talented. Frustratingly so, in fact. It’s just annoying that as a 21-year-old who thought he was doing alright by being in a few sketches for an online magazine, there’s 13-year-olds out there who are far more accomplished than I can ever hope to be.

Sort of makes you wonder what the point is, doesn’t it?

Matt Damon was 27 when Good Will Hunting came out and he won an Oscar for it. I suppose I’ll just have to try and beat that record.

Anyway, with Stranger Things season 2 now available on Netflix, there’s a lot of PR being done from the cast and production staff. You’ll find the kids on just about every chat show going and David Harbour’s tweeting a lot.

But amongst other shows, Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard appeared alongside the Stranger Things creators, the Duffer Brothers, as they were shown the cast’s audition tapes. As well as being pretty funny, you can see how they got the roles…

Have a watch.

Amazing performances.

Oh and if you’re worried about seeing spoilers elsewhere, I’ll rip the plaster off for you here. It turns out that they’re all lizard people from Stoke and the whole series is just a really long winded advert for denim and synths.

Who knew?
